Community Policing
The city is divided into six areas. Two officers are assigned an area. They will act as liaison for the department in the community and will coordinate the exchange of information in solving those problems that occur in your area. The officers are encouraged to work with citizens to find solutions in resolving your concerns.

DARE
An officer is assigned to teach DARE to 6th graders in all three elementary schools. DARE is a 17-week course and has been successful with the elementary school children. The students are taught information about life skills, such as how to deal with peer pressure, how to say "No" to drugs, gangs and violence.

Bicycle Patrol
This is an extension of the community policing effort. In favorable weather, experienced trained officers will patrol our parks, schools, businesses, parking lots and churches. They may also be available to bicycle rodeo and bicycle training of children.

Officer Friendly
An officer is assigned to teach safety programs in the elementary schools such as stranger danger, Halloween safety, home safety, McGruff House, bicycle safety and pedestrian safety.

Scout Merit Badge
This program is an extension of the community policing effort. An officer trained in Scout matters will assist the community in teaching young men law enforcement and crime prevention safety merit badges. Our officers are also involved in Cub Scouts.

Weber Consolidated Dispatch Center
The people who work the dispatch center are trained professionals and do their work well. They are trained to take your calls, ask and answer questions, and give suggestions to assist you. Those who staff this center will be able to send police, fire or ambulance to your aid depending on the circumstance. All police, fire and ambulance calls MUST go to the dispatch center. We encourage you to call the dispatch at 629-8221. The center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This center serves Weber and Morgan Counties.

CSI/Crime Scene Investigation
The Crime Scene Unit is a consolidated program in Weber County. This is a highly effective resource for law enforcement. The men and women of this unit are trained technicians in investigations of crime scenes.

Narcotic Strike Force
The narcotic strike force is a consolidated program of all the municipalities in Weber and Morgan Counties. The men and women who work the strike force are well trained in this field. They work for you and employ your commitment as a community to rid your neighborhoods of drugs. If you suspect your neighbors are using or selling drugs, please call this TIP-A-COP at 1-801-TIP-A-COP (801-847-2267). Look for the frequency of vehicular traffic at the neighbor's home, at all hours, or people coming and going for short periods of time.

Homicide Task Force
A detective from our department is assigned to this task force. He/she is trained along with several other investigators from agencies throughout the Weber County area to investigate homicide cases. There are two teams of investigators that stand ready to respond at a moment's notice to assist any city with their investigation.
