Dear Citizen:
Aloha! & Talofa!
My name is Polo Afuvai and I’m honored to serve you as your chief. The North Ogden Police Department consists of 18 full time employees. There are 15 - police officers, 1- Animal Control officer and 2-support staff. Our employees are professionals and will stand ready to serve you. We have a young and devoted staff that are trained to protect and serve you, and are willing to work in concert with people of this great community to solve problems.
I am pleased to say that our Mayor, City Administrator and Council are very supportive of the police department. I appreciate the working relationship we have had with them in funding those budget items that are critical in our fight to “Take A Bite Out Of Crime.” We look forward to many more years of working with them, communicating our needs, and goals, and provide our people the very best tools for their safety as well as yours.
We appreciate all those who have called in and reported crimes in progress. Your participation is welcomed, and we encourage others to get involved and help us be a part of the solution. We rely on you to be our eyes and ears to protect our community, help us keep the undesirables out, and bring those who commit crimes to justice.
Our city is divided into six areas. There are two officers assigned in each of these areas. They will become the liaison for the department to bring issues from you to us, and provide you the training you need to safeguard our community. The officers will teach Neighborhood Watch Program, for your area upon request. If you have a need, please call our office and ask to speak to the officers assigned to your area. Please feel free to call me or any of our staff members and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. To report a crime and have an officer come to your home or business, please call our Dispatch Center at 629-8221.
